So, it turns out I’ve decided to major in Spanish. I’ve improved SOOO much over the past 3 semesters! I’m working on going to Colombia or Costa Rica for a while this next year. I love this language!

I’ve really been working on this for several months. I don’t want to continue losing what I learned in college. I’ve made progress in that I’m not intimidated to speak with (certain) people in spanish, which helps me keep it in the forefront of my mind. I have a friend who speaks spanish with me most of the time we’re together, and he’s patient & willing to correct my mistakes. It’s fun. I also listen to the spanish radio station in the car and learn from that.
I took one semester of Spanish in junior high school but I find myself seriously wanting to learn the language. My practical reason is that I live in a largely Hispanic neighborhood. Aside from this, however, I love people and knowing the language would break down the barrier between myself and so many other folks.
The Spanish spoken in Mexico is different than the Spanish spoken in other countries. I want to learn proper Spanish (Spain spanish) but I would also like to learn what I can of different dialects.
A guy at work is helping me a little bit but I think I want to check out a college course.
