I’m really sticking to this! Since last Tuesday, I’ve woken up much much earlier i.e. 6am so that I can get to the gym by 6.30am.
All i need to do know is to keep this up for 30 days :o)
p/s: I do get a little sleepy during lunch hour though.
arghh… failed … miserably… failed miserably…
tomorrow’s another day.. keep trying.. keep trying…
I noticed that I do wake up at 7am only to switch off 1 of my 3 blaring alarm clocks, switch on my lights and radio, then snuggling under the covers again.
hmmm have to practice like that pavlina article.
My alarm clock is always set to 7am every day for as long as I can remember.
I wake up 45mins – 1hr later every day for as long as I can remember
(hah!). Yes, I love to snuggle further under the duvet and dream….
Why do I keep doing the same thing but expect different results?
30 days: to set the habit
30 days: to motivate/ discipline me (there’s a finish line)
30 days: 22 Jan – 20 Feb incl. weekends (I love late weekend mornings but so long as I open my eyes at 7am and drag my ass to the couch.. thats pretty good!)
I was reading Steve Pavlina’s article on how to become an early riser (http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/2005/05/how-to-become-an-early-riser/) and I realized that my mornings are usually a horrible rush to get to work. When I was in college and when I lived with my parents, I used to have a nice morning where I would make a bowl of cereal and watch TV before getting to work. I used to also wake up at 9am everyday, which was nice.
But now I notice that everyone who is successful usually wakes up early and doesn’t give into that cranky “I don’t want to!” voice in their head.
I’ve been waking up at 7am pretty often this past week. I put the alarm clock on the other side of my bedroom so that I have to wake up. And once I’m up, I make myself sit up for a minute or two. Then the cranky voice goes away and I’m happy to be up in the morning.
When I start waking up at 7am every morning I want to be able to use my extra time wisely. I want to wake up to healthy food, good calm music, meditation, and going to the gym before I get ready for work. I want to wake up feeling great and reserve the time exclusively for me :)
carozubi is figuring out her 43 things :]
I will have practice every weekday around 7:50 and I need to make it. This last quarter in college I went to sleep every night around 3-4 am, and sometimes at 7am on weekends because of partying a lot (crazy college life :] ) but it was very unhealthy for me, and I gained a lot of weight and stopped exercising cause I was always tired. Now, I want to change. I did some research and learned that there is a thing called “circadian rhythm” that is the body’s “timer”. Apparently if you wake up at the same time everyday and sleep a min. of 6 hours, it gets to a point where you can wake up before the alarm clock goes off… I want to train for my triathlon, and its really important that I am well rested. Waking up early everyday is the first step to my success. I have to go to sleep around midnight in order to do this… lets see how THAT goes :]
This is to hard for me, I try to every morning but the sheets are sticky to me… today is Thursday thank God…. the weekend is so close…then Monday again and for sure I will try as hard as I can to accomplish this…
ok, 7 is a breaze once you give up drinking and going out etc. i’ve been going to bed early and getting up early. i’m ready now to take it a step further and get up at 6am. i’m updating my list. good luck.
Waiting to be Brillant is back into it
I would reccomend doing this, you get so much more into your day and it easily becomes routine. Live life now!
Waiting to be Brillant is back into it
The secret to this is getting out of bed AS SOON AS YOUR ALARM CLOCK OFF.
Not a second latter, no you cant just lay in bed for five more miutes. Be sure to clear the area around your bed(if your messey) you dont want to hurt yourself when u get up.
Then once you are UP stumble to the shower or that first cup of coffee. Good Luck.
soon your body will be adjsuted to this technique and you will find yourself waking just before your alarm goes off.
