It’s 34 cms of length and 30 cms of width, still working on the length :) I can’t admit to the colour though, as it’s supposed to be a gift for my love.
How I did it: My friend Sarah taught me how to knit and cast on. We went to a yarn store and picked out yarn. Next time I need to get a more forgiving type of yarn because while I didn't slip a stitch, I did stitch different sized loops at times which showed up on the yarn I picked and the yarn gradually changed colors which made the scarf awkward. Sadly, my perfectionist personality was not ecstatic about my first attempt. I hav… Read how I did it…
Sami is being exciting.
How I did it: I went to Walmart, bought the stuff, read the instructions, and kept the scarf-in-progress in a basket under my couch for when I was ever watching tv. It was done a lot faster than I had expected, little by little it had turned into a full on grandma scarf. I love it, I even added a little porcelain button-like talisman on the end of it. KatieFabulous has eaten way too many malted milk balls.
How I did it: got the Stitch 'n Bitch book and went to town. It has GREAT directions! I used just a basic worsted weight yarn--acrylic. Unless you really think you'll finish this and money is no object, don't waste the money on wool yarn on your first project. I knit until I got to about five and a half feet and then I felt like it was long enough to be done. Read how I did it…
hollyiswhere loves opportunity.
How I did it: I took a knitting class. This was the easiest thing, so I tried. Like most beginners I thought I'd improve on the knitting recipe -- and make it shorter and wider. It wasn't very good. It weighed on me for a whole season, I kept forgetting how to do a knit stitch and then forgot how to do a purl stitch. But I perservered and in the end got something that resembled a neck brace more than a scarf but hey -- it was mine. Read how I did it…
How I did it: The way I've always done anything. Perserverence, patience and self motivation. You can do anything and everything. It is within our perspectives of life really. The more doors you open, the clearer everything will be. If you ask yourself what the meaning of life is? You will ask yourself who are you quesitons. =) The power of the mind. Fears, insecurities...It's all in your dna. =) All of lifes lessons are thrusted upon you on a daily ba… Read how I did it…

_Pan_ behind on Nano already. panic panic
Nana taught me how to knit when I was about 12. I never knitted again after that day though until Saturday when Janine showed us some wool and needles she’d got from auction to sell. Well me and mamma decided we wanted ago and nana reminded us how to do it.
It was terrible wool, but we got back in the swing pretty quickly. I don’t know how to undo mistakes, I kept giving it to Nana, but I tend to notice straight away when I make one which is good at least.
So I want to get out of just knitting lines to practice and actually make something, starting with a scarf.
I need to buy some nice wool first though.
enigma23x another stressful week.......

Shakespeare's Girlfriend is excited to see what happens to her in 2009!
I am looking forward to completing my first scarf.
FuyuKuma Ready to be at the goal....
Having a devil of a time working on tension but I have a couple of balls of yarn for different projects and an old ball so I can work on swatches to get my tension right before I attempt my first piece. Wish me luck!
As it turns out, knitting is not my forte.
But I bought my own needles, and very pretty fuchsia yarn (which was expensive-ish), so DAMN IT I WILL LEARN TO KNIT.
Siriuslyfun19212 feels the need to exist for just a bit more before school again. :D
I’m giving up on this one, not because I’m incapable, but because I have no desire to knit anymore. Not that it’s a bad thing, but I just don’t feel like knitting, anymore.
coamma is swimming in the river
Just did a basic knit. Did one for family members and a friend that was moving.
I’ve had to start over, because I was running the risk of running out of yarn at about 2 feet or so. I’ve made it narrower (about 4 inches wide instead of 6-7), and not only is it going pretty quickly, but hopefully by the time I run out of yarn on this skein it will be long enough to wear. I think it will. I started earlier today, and it’s about 5 inches long right now.
