How I did it: it was my 2nd time going to this cool salon and my first time getting highliths there. they are ok...i wanted them red but the stylist told me that caramel and blonde are "in" on summer time. i have them only in my bangs and in the front of my hair, i think i look different so is ok, its what i was looking for... How I did it: I went to mastercuts and got the 7 foil highlights for 27 dollars. I got them kinda chunky along the sides of my head. It took about 45 minutes... I read a book while I waited for them. It started to itch a little towards the end. Then they got washed out and I use a color safe shampoo and tons of V05 conditioner. Read how I did it…

i was thinking is painting my entire hair red but i changed my mind because it is expensive, it damage the hair and then i will be a slave of the tint to hide the roots, so maybe another time. what i will do now is some highlights in red or brown clear in my bands and some on the front to change the look a little bit. :D
this isn’t a very good pic. but i cut it too. i sorta wish i hadn’t. i don’t really like it. this happens to me every time i do this… sigh... i like the color though!
mecando is fabulous
I did it myself again. I’ve gotten so many compliments that I must be doing it right. even my hairdresser said they looked great and wanted to know where i went. (she thought I cheated on her). nope. and, i’m definitely not appologizing for saving myself a hundred bucks or more!
Its called Loreal Couleur experte. you dye your hair and then use the color coordinated highlighter. Love it! It’s about $20.
etherealessence is such a lucky girl!
I used to experiment with my hair a lot when I was younger, but as the years have passed, I’ve become content with my hair color just the way it is. Also, living where I do, my hair naturally lightens in the sun, so it would be a waste of money to highlight my hair at this point since I am outdoors rather frequently. Maybe one day when I’m old and white-haired I may look into this luxury, but for now, I am fine with my natural color :D
My hair is dark dark brown and I have always dyed it dark colors, like Rich Auburn or Black, but ive had a revelation and decided to go lighter. My friend, who is a hair stylist, told me that my hair can never be all over solid color light, but she can put in lots of highlights to brighten it up, and . . . I look so good! Its very nice, if your curious, just try it!
Vicky is determined to stay on here this time :)
I love it. Loads of people said how nice it looked. I thought it was too light but now I’m in love with it =].
I really recommend this!
I want to get pretty caramel highlights in my brown hair, but I’m so afraid they will look orange or unnatural. Any advice? I have some gray hair (a little)... do I need to die my hair before highlighting?
I’ve had highlights before, but i decided to go black after only having them for a month. Now that i have black hair, i’m so tired of it!! I want to go lighter, and get some highlights before i go to Vegas!
