the punk rock house in my town just got shut down. I want to start a new one, but not sure how to start it up. any advice?

I am very intriuged by the idea of living in a punk house. The only problem is I have no idea where any are in New Orleans. I guess I could always go out of state but I’d really like to live in a punk house in my city so that I can make some sort of difference HERE.

Punk as fuck. I wanna be one of the cool kids who throw week long parties, have obscure music taste and who unapologetically present a middle finger to every establishment. I wanna be part of this right of passage thats so important to every teenager, before im too old and teen rebellion becomes an old hat, a childish notion confind to a movie starring James Dean.

i didnt “technically” live in a punk house, but i was constantly there, and sleeping there all the time, so i’ll take it as living there
yes, there’s lots of parties. there is lots of drugs. a lot of drama. there are also some of the best memories i have with freinds who were true.

its definately a fun time living in a punk house. but sometimes it can get frustrating too. there’s ups and downs but overall its definately worth it. i was paying my rent by flying signs with kids who were travelling thru. at this point in my life though i wouldnt do it again. i just feel like im gettin older and i treasure privacy much more than i used to. especially after spending 2 years hopping and hitching all over the us.

Any house can be a punk house, but after doing it, i reccomend choosing a house that no one cares about, or that you cant get kicked out of. We spent two months living off beer, vodka and whatever food we could steal from the grocery store. If you can manage to find a place with a cool landlord, of manage to own a house you dont mind trashing its not to hard to do.
Just remember, when you need to leave, and you probably will need to. Take all your empties with you, and dont tell your landlord where your living next.
