I now go 2 or 3 times a week and swim a mile each time and I LOVE it!
How to swim regularly
How I did it: I bought a swim pass for a local community center which was pretty cheap. The most important thing that made this goal a reality was for me to commit with a girl I used to swim with in high school to swim Tuesdays and Saturdays. I would not have the energy and motivation to consistently swim if someone was not counting on me to be there. Half way through the year another old friend of ours joined us who enjoys planning workouts, which helps keep it interesting. You can also search online for daily swim workouts. This is one of the things I am most happy that I commited to doing in 2008!

Bill Almost three more weeks until the semester ends!
The semester is almost over and then I will be able to get some swimming done along with some other exercise. I really want to join a spinning class. I think it will be a great way to motivate me. I became chubbier over the semester because I have just been sitting at the computer and working on homework. However, next semester is not full and I like it. Time to get some much needed exercise.
for me to feel like I am doing something other than walking and rare aerobics to keep fit.

as I have now had a free swim pass for 6 months and still have not been once! What is wrong with me?!
I’d like to go every other day now I’ve started C25K.
I can’t quite count this as done. Yet. I joined the local YMCA and have been swimming a few times. I have a goal to swim a 5k in May. I’ve done about half that in a session and haven’t felt totally wasted, so I think it’s doable.

I am way too busy with school this semester to schedule some “me time” with the pool. However, I am looking into making next semester considerably less busy. I think that it will be awesome! I cannot wait until I get into this goal.
Rainbowshappen see that girl, watch that scene, diggin' the dancing queen...
Someone in this tiny backwater of a village I live in is running swimming sessions at a private pool. Not sure where, but I think it could be what used to be the school pool…whatever.
I found flyers in the post office with a phone number which, oddly, is coded miles away, but I may get in touch with them and see what gives. It says something about adult-only sessions, which is good. (I’ve steered clear of general pool sessions in the past, if at all possible, because I know I won’t be in the mood to stay in the water for long if there are skinny teen idiot girls standing around giggling at my no longer pubescent body in a black one-piece. Which sadly, does happen.)
If I can pop in there after work in the evenings, so much the better…

I took swimming lessons over the summer and since then I have not gone swimming. I was planning on continuing the lessons in the spring but the lesson schedule did not fit my school schedule. I think that I am getting more into the semester and I will be able to fit this into my schedule as I get more organized. I just need to get off my ass and do it. Not only that but I can swim for free becasue I am a student and what better place to do it than the Busbey Natatorium (pictured in this entry).
When I first moved here, I was so delighted to have an affordable swimming pool near me that I went 4-5 times a week. Now, in the last two months, I haven’t gone once.
My goal is to go at least 3 times a week from September of this year.
