actually have a camera now so might actually be able to do this.

Thomas My book, Surprise Endings, is now available for sale.

I've tried this once. 2 years ago

When I first started working on my short story collection, I decided I wanted to have one photograph per story. But, I didn’t want it to be in focus, I wanted it to be blurred so it looked a bit more artsy yet still showed what the subject of the photo was.

Well, one of my stories was about an argument a couple had in a public place. So, I walked around the mall one day, telling people about my book and asking them if I could photograph them and then use it. Nobody said, “Yes.”

But, I think this will be a wonderful project to help me get out of myself.

    Well then. 2 years ago

Attempt #1 turned out to be a double exposure. It’s a nifty picture on it’s own, I think, but it so happens that the lady’s face is near the sky, and it’s pretty blown out, so that’s kind of sad…

    picture!

However, my town’s yearly carnival is in town this week and I’ve chatted to some of their staff and taken a few pictures…some that might work and some that will not. We’ll see.

So I took one today... 2 years ago

The first one. I really suck at starting goals when I say I’m going to. Anyway, this one was taken with film, 120 film, at that, and the nearest place to develop that is thirty minutes away, so I should have the results in a day or two. Basically, if this didn’t turn out, I’m still at zero because I didn’t take one in digital…nice, huh? Oh well, the lady was nice and seemed flattered. As long as I made someone smile and not freak out…

Very, very excited. Starting Saturday. 2 years ago
