I was driving a few months ago and I saw a man taking his pet emu for a walk downtown.
I said to myself, “That is going to be me someday.”
Probably won’t happen for some years, but someday I will have my emu.
I had an emu when I was little. My dad raised exotic birds (rheas, mostly) and we got an emu discounted because his spine curved signifigantly, so he kind of ran at a tilt. Other than that, he was fine. We named his Barry (as in Goldwater, on account of his right-ward inclination rolls eyes). Wonderful pet. He loved to bite at anything shiny and would creep up to you on the ground (like a 3-foot bird would be less noticable than a 5-foot one) and snap at the water soming out of the hose. He died, on account of bein old, after about 12 years. Emus are very nice.
