So, I think this is clearly impossible, being as I like new songs daily.
That being said my perfect mix cd would have to have the kinks- Lola. Probably Rancid- Time Bomb and Buckcherry- Anything, Anything. Speaking of my favorite songs, Leonard Cohen- Hallelujah would be on that list, so I’d have to find some way to make it fit in with those other songs. The perfect mix cd would also include the perfect flow so order is important. Can’t have too many fast or slow songs in a row but you don’t want to shock yourself into a new song.

This is the one thing I think I’ll strive at and will never EVER do.

Firstly I’m hopeless at making mixed CD’s, and secondly perfection is impossible. (Don’t make me go off about it just take my word for it)

I think trying will be half the fun though.

there is way too much good music in the world to make 1 perfect cd.
Maybe I could cut it down to 5 essential mix cds but you know how a certain song is just right for different times in your life.
But I think any amazing cd would have a few of these songs on it:
Big Time-Neil Young or anything else by Neil Young
Rider on the Wheel-Nick Drake
An Otis Redding Song, perhaps I’ve Been Loving You Too Long
Summer Babe-Pavement
You Can’t Always Get What You Want-Rolling Stones
The Shins
Rebel Jew-The Silver Jews
America-Simon and Garfunkel
I Found A Reason-The Velvet Underground
Keep Me In Your Heart-Warren Zevon
Theologians-Wilco
The White Stripes
Belle and Sebastion-Beck-The Black Keys/Elliot Smith
Dar Williams/Indigo Girls/Chris Pureka/Ani Difranco/Catie Curtis

In trying to do this, I have to first figure out what I feel is the perfect mix tape. It has to be good for a variety of my moods, not overly loud or overly melodic or sad. Something that will make me smile when I hear it, or cry if I’m sad.

Songs I know would possibly fit on a “perfect” mix:
Brand New – Jude Law and a Semester Abroad or Seventy Times Seven
Simon and Garfunkel – America
Neutral Milk Hotle – Two Headed Boy (part 2)
something by the Goo Goo Dolls cira boy named goo or dizzy up (name – acoustic?)
bush – glycerine or swallowed
decemberists – here i dreamt I was an architect
smiths – asleep
Lifehouse – Only One
Something Corporate – Konstantine
say anything – I am a translyvanian
something from death cab
one of the copeland covers.
