This is very much not a priority for me anymore; in addition to the monetary costs of having a car, I now don’t believe in contributing any more to my carbon footprint than I have to. I can use the bus. I can use a bike, I can walk. Even for major traveling I can take a shuttle to the airport or train station. There’s no point in my being one person using a vehicle when I can use mass transit just fine and at a lower cost.

This goal isn’t very practical at the moment. Right now I’m able to carpool, take the bus, or walk everywhere I need to go. Add to that the fact that I can’t afford car insurance and it’s just not something I need to aim at achieving right this moment. There are more important things to focus my time and money on.
After 6 years of not having a license I got my license like 3 weeks ago. And thanks to the giving nature of one of my friends and my sis, I now have a monster beast Ford F-150 truck. Yes it’s massive. Yes it takes up all the space between the lines in the road., but I’m sure I’ll get the hang of the beast after a while. I thought of calling her Matilda, Tilda or Tilde (Till-dee) for short. But that may change. I thought I’d give y’all a couple of pics of Tilda since I went driving madd early this morning to get a handle on backing up…sooo difficult.
By the way thanks to all my friends for giving my tips and pointers on how not to die in the beast. I will buy some sand bags to weigh down the bed. I will not bust turns too quick or tight so I won’t flip over. I won’t bust U-turns’s like my sister.
Now I have to get an ice scraper and give Tilda a bath cuz I can’t see that well out of the side windows. Overall I’m very happy at this point. Thanks everyone.
I passed and got my driver’s license today.
Hm…..now to get a car. Pics may follow.
I took my vision and written test today and I can’t say that I dominated it, but I missed four out of 20 with a max missed allowed being 5 so I just barely made it. It’s probably because the answers to some of the questions were vague and didn’t say what area the driver was driving in like….
“How far is a safe driving distance?”
a. 50 feet
b. 100 feet
c. a safe driving distance
d. 250 feet.
I’m like…”What?” you could be driving on a highway where you need a bigger following distance or on a small street where the speed limit is lower…so who knows. The answer was C which in itself is very vague but I guess I can say who cares since I passed.
Next is the dreaded driving test. I haven’t driven in 6 years so I know I’m a little rusty. crosses fingers Wish me luck.

Well, I’ve had a permit for a couple months now but it’s just been recently that I’ve been able to practice driving. I drove again today for the fourth time from the county back into town; that went well, aside from having to slam on my breaks once when someone cut me off – but! the housemate and I lived through it so I can’t complain too much.
Passed the driver’s test the second time and I’ve had my license for about two months now. I love driving.
my dad gave me a car yesterday, once i get that fit for driving then hes giving me lessons in it

Dont let a failure get you down, the first time I took my G2 test I failed.. but, I got an appointment for another as soon as I could, and I passed it!
Trust me, once you start driving you will feel free, as if you can go or do anything!
