luinel is wondering what her next big goal should be....
Okay, yes, the views were amazing, however… over half of the views were blocked by construction. i should have done better research, hopefully i could have prepared myself. i had read that it cost 1 euro to get in; it cost me 11 euros for myself and the girls were 9 euros each, which cut into our souvenir fund drastically. Then they wanted to lend you the audio guide for 4 euros, but required a 50 euro deposit! Then, you go inside, and there’s a huge line to go in the elevator up to the towers, but they want an additional 2.5 euros! It ended up feeling like a rip off. My grandmother got the audio guide, i listened to it for the Passion Facade, and had to listen to at least five minutes of advertisement and flowery “isn’t this so awesome” tripe before they told me to select another track to actually hear about the what i had already selected from the menu. It was a major waste of my time.
Yes, the views are amazing. i loved the displays on where Gaudi got his inspirations from nature. i took a ton of photos. We hurried through the museum to meet our grandmother at time, and then spent twenty minutes waiting for her and her friends to come out of the museum. We ended up spending only an hour and a half there. Sure, it was was truly amazing, but not as amazing as i had hoped for. Reality can really stink sometimes.
i would love to go at some point in the future and go up in the towers (we didn’t have time or inclination to wait in line to pay more money) and actually see the apse windows. i’m a bit confused about what the point is in spending the money to put those in but then render them impossible to be viewed by anyone other than the construction crews.
