How to learn jQuery
How I did it: I just dove in! It was a fairly easy move from Prototype.js after I overcame the intimidation that jQuery sometimes brings. It seemed a bit daunting at first, but once you get familiar with things it all sort of falls in place. Reading jQuery in Action really helped and made some of the more advanced things a lot clearer.
Lessons & tips: Help on how to build selectors, debugging, extending jQuery / writing plug-ins.

I’m well on my way and every day that I use jQuery I find something else that keeps me coming back for more. Last night and tonight I wired up some simple AJAX functionality using the keyup function and the load function and a bit of PHP.
This stuff is SO useful and well worth the learning curve. The ability to make your site infinitely more usable is worth every second of your time.
