I may need to revisit this. My project did not go well at all. I could write a book full of complaints concerning it. But that’s boring and no one wants to read about my whining (more than usual anyway).
Not sure if I want to color in the illuminated letter or not… The few parts left to color in look silly to me empty, but the gel pens I’m using would make it lose detail if I colored in. D: Siiiigh.

I’m determined to make this project as awesome as possible. Therefore…
I must PRACTICE!
The bottom one is my actual assignment for Typography class (not the project, thankfully), the top was me getting used to the pen. This is supposed to be the ‘gothic’ style.
Cleaning up afterwards is almost as nerve wracking as writing. I keep worrying I’m going to ruin the nib. D:
I’ve got some ideas for the final product already… I can’t wait to get started!! 4 months ago

xD
We’re going to be making a project similar to the Book of Kells in Typography! We’re picking a phrase we like and we’re going to make the first letter super pretty and decorative and use pretty calligraphy for the rest. The examples my professor showed to us looked gorgeous. I’m gonna have to check out stuff for the Book of Kells more in depth.
I’ve never done calligraphy before though, so I’m nervous that I won’t be able to transcribe my ideas onto paper well… But damned if I don’t try, right? 4 months ago
