...or at least a better understanding than I had last time I visited Holland.
The more time you spend in Holland the easier the language becomes. The accent is hard but not impossible, our Australian friend has lived there for years & although he speaks a funny mix of the the two, he is perfectly understandable to both English & Dutch speakers.
I would never expect to become fluent, but I do hate to go abroad & expect the locals to speak english to me.
