learn to play the recorder

I learned to play the recorder in elementary school. I still have my recorder from back then! I can’t say I really remember how to play anymore, but if I manage to get a quick overview of the notes again I’m sure I’d be able to pick it up quickly. The recorder is something that’s definitely… interesting to do. I’m not sure if you want to proudly say that you know how to play the recorder when someone asks if you play an instrument… It’s just something fun to do when you’re little or want a simple instrument that you can learn when you don’t want to spend too much on lessons for the more “sophisticated” instruments.

I’ve played for 4 years and its awesome but then 2 years ago i got into the drums and thats way cooler but I’ve been interested in the recorder again.

I loved it while I was playing it, but I got called the star of the class in front of everyone. I learnt to play the saxophone a couple of times, but it was shit.

In Year 9, I decided to quit because we weren’t learning anything cool (Hardly any modern music!). My music teacher made a torturous shriek at me; then there was the recorder exam (Which I fluffed up on purpose) and that was that.

I was pretty damneded good at it while I did it, I must admit.

Not interested.

I don’t know about the recorder’s tone. Maybe I should make sure I don’t get a soprano recorder. Or maybe I should try a Chinese flute, or a fife, or some smaller flute-like instrument? The problem is, because I hurt my jaw so badly playing trumpet all those years, I don’t know if I couldn’t even hold a flute ombishure. I remember not even being able to do one properly when I still played. I guess I should find a way to try them out, but where would I get them and who would help me?
