The next session is June 21st at 2:00. I’m excited. I need to learn what notes correspond to what holes by then.

Weird. I haven’t played the recorder in five years or more, and only knew a couple of songs, but I picked up the recorder and played this song. I couldn’t tell you what the notes are, or what holes to cover. My hands just knew. It was the grace of tactile memory.

Now to add some more songs. That’s going to be harder since I now have to re-learn the names of the notes so I can read music. These are the songs I’m thinking of learning next:

2. Greensleeves
3. Scarborough Fair
4. Somewhere Out There

i really want 2 learn 2 play the recorder i just got it 4 my music class and i dont know how 2 read the notes

I bought a recorder and a beginner’s music book and have been practising 15 minutes every day for the last week. I wouldn’t say it sounds wonderful but at least I’m learning to read music

I learned to play the recorder in elementary school. I still have my recorder from back then! I can’t say I really remember how to play anymore, but if I manage to get a quick overview of the notes again I’m sure I’d be able to pick it up quickly. The recorder is something that’s definitely… interesting to do. I’m not sure if you want to proudly say that you know how to play the recorder when someone asks if you play an instrument… It’s just something fun to do when you’re little or want a simple instrument that you can learn when you don’t want to spend too much on lessons for the more “sophisticated” instruments.
