no 16-pretend you dont see her by mary higgins clark
How I did it: There were many times I didn't think I would get there, but just kept pressing on. I joined 2 book clubs towards the end of the year, so that definitely helped motivate me as well.
Lessons & tips: I think reading any book is still better than watching t.v., so I didn't limit myself to only reading a certain caliber of literature. I say if it interests you, read it. I would've never made it if I'd had to read all classics.
Resources: My local library!

I decided that I need to cease ordering new books through the library or buy any new books until I’ve finished what I’ve started. It feels less overwhelming now that I don’t have the temptation of new books in the mix and also it will help me keep my place clean as an added bonus.
Once I’ve gotten through my stack of partially read books, I’m going to try to go through books I’ve borrowed so I can give them back and then start the shelf full of books I’ve bought and then never started. I used to have a bit of a book addiction that I was able to kick once I started working at the library and realized you don’t HAVE to own every book you read or want to read. Now I try to only buy books that either the library doesn’t have or something I’ve read and know I’ll want to read again.

As I said in my last entry, I’m totally on track to finish this goal. My year runs from last year’s birthday to this year’s. I’ve read 18 so far, so that leaves 7 more before October 6th. My problem is, I’ve started no less than 5 books without finishing any of them. I think I need a new strategy—maybe start with the one that I’m closest to finishing and work through one at a time? I have a no book gets left behind policy, and this sometime’s works against me. I need to get through these first before starting anything else because my night table is waaaaay too cluttered!

I’m finally officially part of a book club again. We had to postpone our first meeting due to a member getting sick, but we should be meeting soon. I already finished the book and am so looking forward to the next. I think I’ll easily finish this goal. I have 3 more months and about 6 more books to go. The funny thing is, I’m about half-way through at least 3 books that I just can’t seem to finish, but if I do, I’ll be almost there!
