I’ve been doing a dozen sit ups and press ups for about a week now, pacing myself. I actually did sit ups in the evening as well as the afternoon today, maybe its because its gradually becoming easier as I become stronger. Or, I might be getting motovational?!

Anyhow, getting pretty good progress on upper body strength, definate noticable difference.

My next step will to start cycling in addition to this, to strengthen the body as a whole.

thus, less helpless 21 months ago

okay, ive always been skinny and im greatful for that.
i don’t want to be scary muscular or anything. but, i’d like to think that i could hold my own in a hypothetical fight situation. mainly its just being more independant of people and not needing help with suitcases and things like that, not feeling like a wimpy girl really.

i could never bring myself to join a gym, on prinicipal i think. ive been eating a lot more than usual, trying not to skip meals etc, i spend more time being active outdoors, but not as much as i’d like because i live in the city centre and I don’t want to be run over.

    Getting results 2 years ago

I am training for over a year now, and I am finally getting results.

The first months where the hardest.

But now I finally understand what I am doing. I did a lot of reading and I can see my body is changing and I am growing stronger as well physically as emotionally.

a friend at work talked me into joining the Y – i learned how to use the weight machines and now really enjoy lifting. even though i’m surrounded by guys, it makes me feel stronger mentally too.

started working out at the Y, lifting 2-3 times a week, its been 3 weeks and i think i’m starting to see a difference

    why... 3 years ago

my primary reason for adding this goal is that i want to able to protect myself better if i am ever attacked/confronted/etc. I’m a girl and on the smaller side so i feel like i need to be strong for my size. I also want to just be in better shape (see other goals) and this just goes right along with it. my plan is to take advantage of the free personal trainer session available at the Y (yay!).

It’s no so much about the appearance (I’m a girl, why do I really care about muscles??) but I do think I’m a bit more muscular-looking on my upper arms. Not by much, but enough I can see a difference.

My weights were cleaned off. So now I can go back to using those. Plus, (as lame as this sounds) I want to tivo Denise Austin’s show on Lifetime. I’ve done it several times before, and love it.

    Um... 3 years ago

My dog pooed on one of my weights.
    No I’m not kidding.
    Sooo.
    Yeah.

    Weight-Training 3 years ago

Yesterday and today I’ve done a bit of weight-training. Not like any big deal, just some little 5 lb. weights. I like doubling them up, though, so I actually do 10 lbs. Anyways, I’m gonna continue doing this for like 10 minutes every day.
