i got my hair highlighted again for the first time in about 2 years…with a great cut too, it’s copper colored highlights, which are super bright, but with my coloring, and the darkness of my hair, i think it looks good. And i only got partial highlights (just the top and sides).

I had highlights in my hair, and harder to cover up if you get tired of them. I had my hair dyed 5 months ago and the highlights from the previous coloring came out again. I’m letting it all grow out, since dying my hair is too much upkeep and has damaged my hair.
had it done twice and they never listened to me in what i wanted done. i ended up with lots of blonde in naturally dark red hair, changed the texture of my hair. I finally got fed up and had it all cut (my hair well past my waist) and then recoloured to match my roots/natural hair colour.
I hadn’t done it before last spring (2006), so I tried it. It looked nice, I guess, but the texture of my hair changed, and I don’t want to spend the money for root upkeep. It either ends up looking funny while it’s growing out, or you end up shelling out plenty of money on your hair. I know it’s worth it for some people, but it wasn’t for me.
I just got my hair highlighted today. It’s not exactly what I thought it would look like… the color is different than what i was expecting. It doesn’t help that I’m a perfectionist and so I’m bothered that when my hair is up in a ponytail, the left side and top of my head seem more highlighted and bright than the right side, which looks more subtle. I’m scared to take a shower tomorrow because apparently the color lightens some… oh God. And my hair definitely feels a bit more dry than it ever did. Hopefully this will grow on me… I plan on getting some more highlights on the more subtle part to even it out some. – I don’t even want to think of what this will be like to grow out. I’m not sure if I will keep it up. Ugh. I guess I’ll stop stressing now… nothing I can do at the moment, anyway.
Its ok…cuz once it starts growing out you have to decide if you want to get a retouch or you want to grow it out…each can become a hassle. But I would say that definetly give it a try once!
I am 18 and I have had that same auburn colored hair my whole life. I decided to try something new. I got very natural looking blonde streaks in my hair and I love them! good luck!
