Carrick is working on getting fit
If the extended weather forecast (sunny, high of 74°F) remains unchanged, as well as my current schedule, Friday the 14th is the day I will walk into Seattle.
Fingers crossed.

Partly inspired by Will Self’s walk into Manhattan, and partly for the love of walking, I’m planning to walk from my office in Bellevue to my home in Seattle. The distance is almost exactly 10 miles. A large part of the route will be along the Mountains to Sound Greenway. It’s a route I’ve taken many times by bicycle, but never on foot.
One of the great things about walking is that you are traveling rather slowly, which leaves you prone to notice things that you otherwise would not. I plan to document any discoveries I make along the way in photographs.
Advanced preparations will be required, since I expect it will take me 4-5 hours to complete the trip. The idea is to take the bus to work on a Friday, then begin the journey by 1-2pm. With the warmer days upon us, food and water will be required. There aren’t many places along the way for a pit stop. I’m approaching it as though I were going for a day hike in the woods, except I will be traversing a path that is foremost an interstate freeway.
