Save for a house deposit

.. but is now at the forefront, after several discussions with a close friend regarding co-buying.

First things first: get the savings into top gear. I want to return to study my masters, so this could be an issue with repayments and loan eligibility. I will try not to let my impatient nature get the better of me on this one, but it’s hard :)

Am presently renting a house which I have made an agreement to buy. I am getting a great deal and really need to knuckle down and get saving. I’m finding it a bit of a struggle. Have done car bootsales in order to help with the fundraising as well as saving from my salary.

I got married last year, and with little help from parents our very simple wedding was funded with a credit card and a loan – bad move!

We’ve made ourselves a savings plan as we really want our own house before we have children. We’re paying off the credit card first, then our overdraft, then saving up a deposit.

I think about three months to go with the credit card, then 2 or 3 for the overdraft, then the really exciting saving work can begin!

We have applied for a 100% loan so don’t need the deposit. Fingers crossed all is approved so we can get our house!

New plan is to try and save the difference between an estimated mortgage repayment and current rent – put in a high interest account and see what happens!

we are now thinking next year and moving to Mackay or something! Why not! Ant can make alot more money there and it will be nice to do something new!

Been doing more research and gonna save $5000 by May as a deposit…

Sending documentation to mortgage broker today!

Denis is doing paper work to get pre-approval so we can start looking about – will be after Christmas I’m sure!

Just a spoke with Denis the mortgage broker and he said we are in an excellent position everything looks great just need to have a final chat and discussino with ant then can get pre-approval and start shopping!!!! he he cool!
