... that I hardly ever do this.
Rationally, it make sense to regularly through out clothes. I hate that my closet is completely filled, yet I only have very few clothes I want to wear.
I guess that a large percentage doesn’t fit anymore, some of the clothes are actually from High School times, like Poloshirts and stuff… I don’t even like these things! And then there’s stuff that is old and worn.
BUT! Success! I have gone through about 70% of my closet and taken out the clothes that I really don’t like and haven’t worn in ages, plus a few things that I KNOW I will never fit int even more, even if I lose 50 pounds.
Result: It all looks much much tidier than before and I have a huge bag full of clothes headed to the german equivalent of Goodwill or some other charitable organization.

After starting to do this 6 months before an international move, I actually did so many mini-purges that my partner and I were able to fit all of our clothing together into ONE SUITCASE. And to be honest, we never found that we felt we were lacking any clothing. It felt great to travel so lightly and now to live so lightly. I will now never go back to having more than the essentials. Worth it!

Clearing your space creates room for more of whatever you want or need. And it also feels pretty good to donate stuff you don’t use to someone who will use it!

I wouldn’t even stop at clothes… there was so much stuff i didn’t need around the house.
here is how to do it:
get several boxes for your stuff. One box for each:
rubbish
charity
presents
repairs
etc
