We had a friend of ours die one morning while he was a resident at The Salvation Army in Columbia, South Carolina. He had been sick with cancer for some time and the Sali was the only place finally for him to go and rest. He did, and we still miss him and keep him in our hearts to this day.
We organized a bare bones candlelight vigil for him. It wasn’t much to show, but at least we made the effort on his behalf.
