freefloatingsoul got to take the beautiful new dog {Harper?} for a nice long walk.
Right now it’s just a question of whether I want to take it on myself or go to my haircutter and get it done.
How I did it: Had the mohawk for over a hear. it's a pain in the butt.... and only attracted the attention of teenie bopper kidsshave around the center... but shitt in it to keep it up...avoid getting crud in it... avoid washing it, as it takes forever to put back upDon't pay to get a Mohawk, you can pick up a set of Dog Sheers for about $10 to $12 and use it again and again to keep your head shaved. How I did it: Okay, so the #1 advantage I have - I'm a guy. It already makes things 500 times easier, and I wasn't aiming for an explosion of colors... It was pretty wide, basic black. My favorite part were the shaved sides. It was pretty short, and I left a few long streaks in the back. Yup, I didn't just come and say 'mohawk plz' to the hairdresser, and not just because some creepy fashionista went before me... Now I'm growing it out, basically to m… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I went to a school that was very "traditional" and people didn't like it if you were outside of the "norm". So on "Wacky Hair Day" I decided to do a mohawk! I got some really sticky hair gel (a Garnier Fructis product) and put my head down and started pushing the hair up and flattened it between my hands. I used some hair holding spray (Garnier Fructis) and blow dried it. And boom, I went to school with my crazy mohawk! My hair went down i… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I bought clippers and asked my friend Helen to help me. We cut down my hair surrounding the amount I wanted to keep for the mohawk, and then clipped away. It was a blast. After a while, I let my outside hair grow out a bit (like in the pic.), and that specific style fit me a bit better. [ mainly because it was winter and I wasn't a fan of the brain-freeze I got every time I went out without a hat] Read how I did it…
KelsoTattoos is so happy.
How I did it: Just one day i decided i wanted to get a new look so i had my lovely b/f drive me over to great clips and i got all my LONG LONG long long beautiful hair shaved off :P the sides were about inch long or shorter and the middle strip was about 6- 7 inches. Read how I did it…

sidhorror is fucked up
I did this a few weeks ago. It was totally awesome!
Mohawks are just fricken hot, and I love mine.
Arami is overcoming adversity.
I definitely want to get my mohawk back. I first did it a few years ago on my senior trip, but now I want one for good.. or at least longer than a week. I revisited a mohawk again during the summer a few times, and I’m grateful my hair grows quickly. I am aiming to have mohawk-length hair at around December…
Only thing is I need a job to pay for the cut, but then it is counter-intuitive to get a mohawk if I have a job because most jobs are strict.
But I really feel I need this mohawk for my self-expression more than anything.
Pohatutk 2 months to go :)
My grandmother has been perusing my various forms of internet presence since she recently bought her own laptop (and I’m so proud she’s delved into this new world of technology), and she’s been e-mailing me her input on my various entries in blog and other forms.
So when she came to this particular Thing on my list, she e-mailed me to tell me about another time when I had a mohawk.
I was about 3, she believes. My grandfather had agreed to take me to get my hair cut since it was around Thanksgiving and things were pretty busy in the house. So we walked down the street to the barber’s.
As my grandfather passed away when I was 6 and I can’t remember the day in question, no one knows what happened between the time we left and the time we got back, but my grandmother does remember nearly having a heart attack when we BOTH walked in the house with mohawks.
I was permitted to keep it for one day, and then I was taken back to the barber shop to get my head shaved. My grandfather got his shaved too, but he wasn’t any happier about it.
I like this story a lot, because I don’t have a lot of memories of the old man. The only thing I’m ever told about him is that he was an intolerable drunk, but I know I loved him. So now, I have a new reason to get a mohawk, and it’s going to be so much more fulfilling now.
(There’s a picture somewhere, she says, of both of us. Once it’s found and scanned, I’ll post it up!)

I’m headed back to the old US of A, and I think it’d be the perfect time to have a mohawk. There are a couple of catches, though:
I have to cut it myself. I’m in the military, and there’s no way I can get out of Okinawa without someone locking me on for having it.
And, I have extremely wavy hair. If it were any worse, it would be curly. Any suggestions on how to straighten things out? (Not even ceramic or chemical straighteners have worked on my hair)
Ahh, but I’m so excited! If it doesn’t work out I’m just going to buzz it down and try again a few months later. We’ll keep working til we find one that’s good!
