Go to Montana

There’s a good friend up there that I miss to pieces. He’s meant a lot to me these past few years just by being the way that he is… he’s helped me out a lot and I’ve learned quite a bit. Plus! I have to defeat the behemoth with him!

i read David Quaman’s book, ‘The Song of Dodo’ and in it he spoke of fly fishing off huge rafts as they floated down a river in Montana. I would love to do that!

So, when I was in high school, this friend and I spent evenings waxing poetic about how we’d love to live in Montana (okay, Legends of the Fall came out that year). We thought it was the most beautiful place ever.

We pulled out an atlas, and found a town that looked like it had no major roads going to it at all. Secluded. Perfect. Ekalaka. So, my dream is to go to Ekalaka just once, and see if it’s as beautiful and quiet as I dreamt it was.
