finish a screenplay

Just sent out my first 30-100 pages for feedback from friends. I didn’t think I’d have the courage for this… but I feel as if I do take the writing process seriously.

I’ve been writing screenplays on and off for the last year and a half (as well as my usual cavalcade of songs, poetry and stories). But I am yet to actually finish one. Not in the sense that I haven’t written one from beginning to end, but in the sense that I am yet to fully, 100% edit and complete one and be happy with it.

A new, great idea (well, I think it is, anyway) popped into my head yesterday and I’m actually quite looking forward to writing it in full.

There’s just that motivation thing, yeah?

I wrote an outline for one of my stories. My boyfriend is playing taskmaster in my writing tasks. He says I am trying to do to many things at once in my writing. I have never written an outline for my stories, and it was very difficult. But its done. But I really am not sure what story I want to work on. If I am working on one story I miss another.

I have to really start focussing on this. I have started several. I think one of my problems is that I have never been real good at social situations, so I don’t really know how to interact with people. Part of me wonders if I should shift my focus to a book. I’m really not sure. In the screenplay so far that I think is the strongest, I really love the main character.
