I saw them when Finger Eleven and Chevelle opened. The singer of Finger Eleven was so drunk that I barely was able to understand his songs, and he threw the open solo cups of beer out at the audience. Being that I was about three people away from the stage, that sort of sucked. Chevelle wasn’t too on their game either. I don’t remember if that show in Hartford was toward the end of the tour or what, but everything seemed off, until Evanescence came on stage. I was beside myself! I was like three people away from AMY LEE!!! I sang along with every song, tears streaming down my face uncontrollably. I even helped some chick who smuggled in a camera get some shots and film before the security noticed. Except for getting a blast of pot smoke from some asshole who brought in a joint and turned around to exhale so the security wouldn’t bust them (and it went like right in my eyes), and a beer or two spilled on me, I had a blast! I could have died happy that night, though now I have a few other things to live for, so I’d be more disappointed now, lol.

This would be amazing.. 21 months ago

I practically worship Amy Lee. Evanescence’s music has gotten me through really rough times. I’d love to see them in concert.

I really don’t have the urge to see them anymore, being that Amy Lee seems to have went off the deep end.

Adrienne will be absent while taking strides for goal #1.

March Mid-America Center 2 years ago

I received tickets to the March 22, 2007 show at the Mid America Center in Council Bluffs.

Finger 11 and Chevelle opened.

Finger 11 started the show. They only played about half an hour. They seemed really into it, and the lead singer took off his jean jacket saying, “I’m so pumped I’m removing my jacket, which I never do.” I don’t think the crowd seemed to into them, though. They have two known singles, One Thing and Paralyzer. I like both these songs. However, they really didn’t play well. The one guitarist seemed very drunk. He was head-banging with much more force than made sense for the music and kept dropping his guitar. He messed up his cords and the tech had to come onstage several times to fix them. It is sad that I left their portion of the concert with a worse opinion of the band than I started with. I went from thinking I would get their CD to not considering it at all.

Chevelle played next. I really liked them and now listen to a couple of their albums. I noticed the boys all wore the same black canvas shoes. I was thinking the tour came across a shoe sale at some point. With only 3 band members, the boys stood still for the most part, but it was still interesting and definitely good music. They were fairly short, and played only 30-45 minutes.

Evanescence came on, to the crowd’s pleasure. I knew all the songs they played, although I did not note which ones they were to report. Amy Lee wore an interesting outfit. Her black skirt had hoops, taffetta, and the left side appeared to have feathers. Very odd. She had on a black tank top. She also wore the same shoes as Chevelle. She played piano a very little bit. A disappointing amount. I also was disappointed that all background vocals were recorded played over the system. There were no live background vocals. And, the men did not contribute except for when John LeCompt did the rap on one song. I missed the male vocal contribution and wish they would do more. Amy Lee also needs to learn more stage moves. She got a little repetitive in her bending over and fist pumping.

It was an enjoyable concert. There was interesting people watching, but not as much as the NIN concert from last year, which was honestly a surprised. I had attended a Veggie Tales Live at the Mid-America Center previously that a friend took my children and I too. Neither time was I particularly impressed with the location.

NEXT WEEK 2 years ago

I SHALL HAVE SEEN EVANESCENCE :d

finally 2 years ago

So I finally saw my most favorite band in the world last night. I was so happy I cried, I guess that shows just how much I love this band, haha. The concert was great, great sound, I could have gotten better seats, and next time I am definitely getting floor tickets. But the only thing that sucked was the crowd, and our usher was such a bitch. The crowd was just way too lame, no one was even clapping or standing up! I was singing and dancing in my chair since I didn’t want to obstruct anyone else’s view. And so because I was really into it three guys were making fun of me, but I just ignored them. Then the usher thought I was head banging and flashed her stupid little light in my face. So that ruined it a bit for me, but I was still finally happy to see my favorite band, and I can’t wait to again!
