I would like to use a software program that will pronounce the words for me. The problem is that I live in Oklahoma and there are no classes close by to attend. Does anyone have any sugguestions? I appreciate any help!!!

I’m learning taekwondo in a martial arts center with all Korean instructors. I hope to pick up at least a little light Korean language in the process.

My languaged obsessed boy might actually know more phrases than me, this feels wrong in so many ways. So to take ownership of my other language, I plan to watch as many Korean dramas and films as possible. By the way, Korean cinema is brilliant! I’ve just scoured a site full of them and they’re so arty and accomplished. Anyway I’m starting on one called Palace, which is an utterly absurd story of love triangles in a fictional fairytale kingdom, sounds like bliss to me! Also I start my part time job next week so i’ll have the time to properly start to memorise some phrases other than hello/goodbye/thankyou/I don’t understand.

I’m fascinated by the languages and cultures of Eastern Asia, particularly the countries China, Japan, and (South) Korea. Thus, I want to learn the languages of these countries… even though it is a task that seems really very daunting! Asian languages are so vastly different from English that I fear I’ll be lost. I want to become fluent in Korean, so now I am on a quest to find resources to do that, I suppose. Wish me good luck!

Prettyshy Just came back from work, chilling!
I’ve gotten a new Language learning program from staples! its pretty cool, it shows you how to say key common phrases you’d use in a conversation. It also shows you if your pronouncing it right. I’m really bad at remembering things, so when I do learn a word, I kinda forget.

Well first off, I fell in love with Korean culture by watching Korean drama shows like ‘Boys before flowers’. I grew extremely attached to the language, I just love how it sounds, and the way it flows on your tongue. Its a truly beautiful language. I want to someday go to Korea, and meet new people and have fun. Besides learning Korean, I want to learn there customs as well.

I’m taking classes right now. I love it. Matter of fact, I have a quiz tomorrow that I should probably be studying for instead of being on the internet. Lol!

I live in the U.S. at the moment but lived in Korea from 2007 to 08. My dad still lives there, so I can still visit occasionally. I love the culture of the place and the people and the shopping—oh the shopping (Especially in Seoul). I really enjoyed my time there, except that I wish I could have learned more Korean. I got the basics down, just one-word things like “pissayo” (expensive), and thank you, etc, but would love to learn more conversational stuff to connect more. I felt like I was in Lost In Translation sometimes having to use hand gestures to get across what I was trying to say. Anyway, I hope I really do this, because I know I won’t regret it :)

My boyfriend always says my pronunciation is wrong, though he’s not a fluent speaker either. I was taking classes once a week, but I’ve skipped the past two lessons because I was too busy. :-/
I need more motivation to practice.
