"Ethiopia... that's in Africa, right?" 10 months ago

The title is a direct quote from my boss’ daughter. At least she didn’t ask if it was in Asia, right? Anyway, I haven’t eaten Ethiopian food since I was perhaps 4 or 5, and I’ve really been wanting to try it again. I remember really, really, really loving the bread they serve with the food, and that’s about it. Over the past couple of years my tastes have really been expanding and changing, and I’m very eager to try out a wide variety of different cuisines, with Ethiopian being at the top of my list at the moment.

I vaguely remember one sunny afternoon on a rooftop in Rochester. I definitely remember a trip last summer to a restaurant in Geneva with my sister, though.

I wrote an article about how to eat Ethiopian food, for those of you who’ve never done it or are beginners. Check it out, maybe it will provide some help for your next Ethiopian meal!

Ethiopian restaurants within walking distance of my home. I am so lucky. I love injera.

I’ve had Ethiopian food three times: twice in Manhattan, and tonight we found a place called Harrar Cafe in South Orange, NJ. It’s delicious, lamb and beef and a good selection of vegetarian dishes, all served upon a spongy pita-type bread called engera. The food is served community style, and you use your fingers to scoop up the food with your engera bread. The food is tasty, and it’s a good cozy place to go with a group of people.

I try to do this whenever I’m in Washington DC.

The Ethiopian Restaurant, Denver, CO 3 years ago

My second Ethiopian experience was just as good, though I ordered a single dish rather than a full meal. I’m a fan.

BTW, this restaurant doesn’t take credit cards, so bring the cash if you stop in.

Oh my. Can we say delicious? My mouth is watering just remembering it. I hope I get the chance to do this again sometime.
