keep up with Flylady for 1 month

It’s amazing! I’m still up-and-down on this. I had to adjust her suggestions to fit my family. But what we have worked out is working wonderfully.

I have made my bed every day so far. In fact, I made it Christmas Eve, went to work from 10-4, went to Mom’s for the night. Came back Christmas day evening to a bed ready to crawl into after opening our gifts here at home. What a wonderful, uplifting feeling!

I get dressed every morning, but not to the shoes. My feet sweat too much to hang out in them all day. Plus I only have the one pair of everyday shoes, so I do need to air them out whenever possible.

The sink gets shined 9 out of 10 times. It’s a start.

Wednesday the 12th was the first day. I made most of the control journal. I shared with the family the basic concept of FLYing. Kids seem really into it. We already make them make their beds every morning (and we never made ours). They love the idea of shining the sinks every night!

Sunday the 16th I scrubbed the sink out. Used the old cleaning toothbrush on all the nooks and crannies. Caitlyn used a towel to dry it all and I swear we saw our reflections! Awesome feeling when you know you’ve accomplished something! Hubby decluttered a whole box of misc. junk in the coat closet (which isn’t being used like we wish). We gathered all of the games together and put them on the recently emptyed spot in the coat closet. Now come Family Game Night (Wednesday) we know EXACTLY where the games are.

Day 6 and yes, my bed is made. :D

I’ve fallen off the Flylady wagon in recent months and am trying to hop back on. I haven’t abandoned her totally in that I always seem to know which zone week it is, keep a calender going etc. Shows I have learned something!
