The only reason to pursue an on-line ordination would be to demonstrate the spurious nature of religion. Why lend it further credibility?
jack’s lady and I were discussing whether we would baptise our children the other day. Both of us were raised in rather heavy-religious environments, both of us have wandered far from that background.
My first thought was no, but now I’m not sure sure. More than religion I believe in social justice, obligation and self-discipline. My Protestant background provided the foundation of those beliefs – it wasn’t until I became disillusioned that I came to my current position and world view. Perhaps my children will need to come to this place on their own as well. If you skip the foundation will you bypass the the structure?
