teasel is gearing up for the overhaul
Getting an Inman Aligner. This is the quickest and cheapest way for me to get my teeth straight again (it is only the front 4 on the top and bottom that need fixing), however it still costs over £1000 so I don’t know how I will pay for it yet.

She’s said ‘Not too much longer left now’... which means I might be on a retainer by the end of the year. OoooooooOOoooooooOOOoooooo! I’ve grown to love my brace!!!!
My little cousin wont recognise me. He calls me ‘The one what got the stars stuck to her teeth’. Yes… that’s me- I tried to eat the universe :). Bless him.
After the retainer for 6-12 months… I’ll then have to have implants which will cost me in excess of £5,000 to replace the 2 falsies I’ve got in at the moment. Scary stuff!

I got my braces in my late 40’s. They were off by my fabulous 50th bday and I am so glad I did it. My mother said “I never thought you needed braces” but moms don’t always see their own kids objectively. There is no longer a shadow in my mouth in photos. Go for it! Orthodontists will set you up on a payment plan you can manage.

I’ve had my final surgery now before the implants… which should be possible by the end of next year, if not before. I love it when a plan comes together :).
Can’t wait to get the braces off and start the retainers so I can get the final stages underway.

About 10 years ago I could have easily afforded this treatment. Now, as a single mom on a budget and with many other priorities, the only chance I would have would be getting a big linguistic project. My son does need his braces very bad. He hates the idea but perhaps with my tax return this year i will look into it. He is alreays self-consciuous and refuses to smile in pictures. I feel very bad for him because I had the same issue for a long time. Now I don’t care that much. I am more concerned with my gums. I have periodontitis and I am under treatment but I find it difficult to keep up.

I do not know where I left my expensive periodontitis mouthwash. I am not doing well on this at all. I am not flossing regularly, I only brush my teeth two or three times a day. That is it.
I have to go to the dentist soon but is not my main priority.
I know my next visit will be at least 500 dollars (co-pay) the dentist and even worse, the assistant is going to lecture me on why I don’t follow the treatment. Braces are not an option for me, even though I am expecting some decent money soon, I would first think of getting braces for my son who needs them badly.
Oh man, I have to get a project to pay for this without having to use money that I need for my car, etc.

Ok, My teeth don’t have gaps or anything, doesn’t look like I’ve been chewing on gravel. I used to be a thumb sucker so I have an overbite that needs fixing. And 1 of my bottom row teeth grew in slightly tilted. I’m hoping to do Invisalign. I have an appointment in January for it. Anyone have tips or advice please feel free to reply.

I went in for surgery today to have a temporary anchorage device fitted. It hurts at the moment A LOT and it’s been wired underneath my tongue which is making it hard to speak and eat and pretty much do anything. It sucks!
I’ve already got a cut appearing in my tongue- which will probably result in another infection where I’ll see a doctor who will tell me that the orthodontic devices are detrimental to my health and should thus be removed. (Not likely! After nearly 7 years of procedures!)
Then I say that I will raise the issue with my orthodontic consultant, go home with the antibiotics and painkillers prescribed and wait til it goes away. This time I’m in more pain than I’m used to and have a screw through my jaw which pokes out the other side and is cutting me to shreds. I am NOT amused!
I know it’ll settle in, in a few weeks/days time… but the inbetween time puts my life on hold. I’m not letting it though- I’ve got a dissertation exercise to write, a boyfriend to let come see me and if he’s good make me cold coffee and a meal with my girlfriends to go to. The annoyance is just another part in parcel to getting the straight teeth that I foresee at the end of this arduous and long-long-ongoing treatment.

I started Invisalign back in January after my dentist recommended it. Since I was in high school, I was under the impression that fixing my crooked teeth would be cosmetic (after a consultation with an orthodontist at the time). However, my wisdom teeth came in after that and made a mess. My wisdom teeth were removed 12 years ago and I’m finally getting around to straightening myself out. It’s fabulous to be able to chew correctly. I had no idea my teeth were as bad as they were. I highly recommend Invisalign except that it’s a pain to have to take the aligners in and out when you eat. Otherwise, it’s been very easy. I should be finished in December, maybe January.

I’m 28, and I have gaps between teeth. Lawrence Fishburn likes his, but I don’t. I want to fix this problem of mine, soon! Only if our economy was better!
