They’re beautiful, but I’m going to have to wait until I move into a house to do it.

Eimear can't believe her dissertation is finally finished
for the moment, because if my home is a cake, the kind of window I have in mind is icing and glace cherries and silver balls, but I am still mixing the cake batter and waiting for the oven to heat up :-)
I will get there in the future!
Marking this entry as done in the meanwhile becuase my lovely mammy has bought me a small stained glass panel, the kind you hand in from of a window from a chain, and the light shines through…..it makes me smile every time I see it, and it will keep me going for the moment!
here’s the thing - if you really want one, find a local artist to design and make one just for you. even if it’s just a small panel to hang in your window, you will get more satisfaction from having an original design that you own. so much stained glass stuff is mass produced now - the quality of the glass used and the technique is low, and you’re not going to get something that is personal. if you truly love stained glass, save up and support a local artisan who is working in an age old craft.
