On my birthday trip to Dublin my boyfriend and I made it a point to follow in his parents footsteps and tour the Guinness factory. From start to finish it is a very interesting visit and the building is incredible. After seeing how it is made, stored, and poured you come to the very top of the building to have a pint while enjoying the 360 degree view of Dublin from above. You can see right to the mountains where the water they use comes from. I may have drank my pint a bit too fast and went overboard on the trip to the gift shop, but I highly recommend this trip for beer connoisseurs and “How It’s Made” junkies alike. If you’re ever in Amsterdam the Heineken brewery is incredibly entertaining.

Meh. The view was OK. The pint was OK.
But any day in Dublin I’d rather have my pint in a pub. The tour was not very impressive, in my opinion.

The Guinness Brewery seemed to me like a tourist thing. Great view of the city from the bar,but the place is very modern and the Guinness was in a can.
If you are in Dublin, try a more traditional pub to savor a pint of Guinness, The Long Room in South Great George St. is a good place, if it’s still there.

Love the Clover…
It’s especially great if you go with someone who doesn’t like guinness, so you can drink their pint too…
I’ve been hooked on guinness ever since.

Actually, with your admission, you’ll get a free pint at the top of the Guiness Brewery at a type of skybar. What a sight, great views of Dublin and lots of fun. Everyone should see Ireland once in their lifetime.

Annemaart Je suis comme je suis, je suis fait comme ca
Great museum (very trendy) and the view from the bar at the top is great. Also loved the little clover of foam on the top of the beer.
