Learn how to use Movable Type

switched to MT several years ago and never looked back 4 years ago

I highly recommend Movable Type for its powerful features and flexibility in customizations. If hosting, installing and tweaking your own blogging app is more than you can handle or have time to invest, then TypePad (also awesome!) is probably a better choice for you. FYI, all of my web admin education is 100% homegrown and I was able to install, tweak and hack MT just by reading the documentation, and googling for whatever other info I needed. If I can do it, ANYONE can! I highly encourage pressing forward through the challenges when you encounter them. I’m glad I did it. :-)

It’s tricky, but it’s worth learning – there’s no such thing as something that wasn’t worth learning. Whether I’d recommend MT to anyone is a different story altogether…

I’ve tried Movable Type and now am trying WordPress, which is free and has better spam control.
