sillyb living a life without boundaries.
when i was younger i had loads of hamsters! they’re awesome lil critters, my mum recently got a cute ginger syrian and i fell in love all over again, so i’m planning on getting a desk buddy at some point, probably once i’ve actually de-cluttered my desk so theres room for him/her.

After losing Ginger (RIP baby) I didn’t think that I would ever be able to have another. But now, I want to buy another little critter to take care of. Right now I’m just waiting for the perfect hamster to show up. I want to get a rescue ham. Perhaps one with emotional problems (like Ginger had). I just want to give am extra deserving hamster a good home.

Jen Please keep Wren, Sadie, and Brightthunder in your thoughts!
He was a brown and white Syrian. I don’t remember much about him besides watching the little guy stuff his cheeks full of hay. Cute, but not exactly the right companion for me. As far as small animals go, I prefer more social ones like guinea pigs and rats.

in the past i’ve had about 4 hamsters. The first one broke loose the day after i bought it. I was testing a play pen i made for it, but unfortunatly it’s teeth were victorious. the second hamster escaped committed suicide after jumping off the second storey balchony of my house. He later died of shock. my third hamster was smart. she planned her eascape. day by day she would knaw at the cage door until she eventually learned to open it. My fouth escaped also. Then i got 2 gerbil. in short, they turned out to be canicals.i think i will be easier for me to have a hamster now. i have less distraction and i can play with them all day. they’re so cute.

he was back to his digging ways, but now in three corners. Quite late (he’s a late riser, even for a hamster, as it is) we offered the chance to go in the ball for a bit and he seemed keen this time. I had a quick check of the cage and covered the corners again, and put in a hanging stick thing for him to nibble/chew on.
If I’m at home tomorrow night, I might try my hand again.
Edit:
He was too noisy in the wheel last night, I put him in my sister’s room! lol

He’s tested me tonight. He’s recently cleared a corner of sawdust and been “digging” away at the plastic. I tried 3 times putting the ball by the door for him to go in, but no luck. I didn’t want to try picking him up or even putting my hand in today. I just wanted him in the ball so I could check the cage and sort a couple of things out. I really felt that he was trying to run away from me on the wheel. Sounds stupid probably. I’ve given up tonight. I’m feeling quite miserable now.

I tried putting a peanut on my hand and laying it down in the cage. He sniffed my finger and the peanut briefly and bit my finger, but didn’t take the peanut. I took my hand out and tried again a few minutes later when it was in the wheel. He totally ignored me.
So.. we thought we’d try the ball. I put it at the door and waited, for what was a long time, but he eventually went in. He explored my room in the ball for 5-10 minutes and we put him back and put the peanut in the cage as a reward. He then looked out at us through the bars.
:)
