Put my music on MySpace

I have more friends in more place than people would ever think

...and I have two friends ALREADY. One of them a band from London that I’ve never heard of but they’re actually rather good, and the other a studio…well, maybe they routinely befriend every new artist they can find, but it’s a start.

And that means someone who doesn’t know me from Eve has heard one of my songs. Blush.

It’s a BROWSER problem. We worked it by going in via MSN, and it now seems to be accessible from AOL as well. Why didn’t someone tell me this sooner? Dorks.

But anyway…

I now have a music account. Woo hoo!

I have uploaded one song and I’m waiting for the 24 hours it takes to convert to their streaming format. All being well, by tomorrow night I will be embarrassing myself publicly….

...I got an Email back from MySpace tonight.

It effectively said ‘Oh, you can’t create a second account under your existing Email address. You either have to delete your existing account, or create the new one under a new Email address.’

Hello? COULD YOU GUYS PLEASE HAVE TOLD ME THAT THREE WEEKS AGO WHEN I FIRST CONTACTED YOU???!!!

OK, so I created a new Email address and tried again.

It STILL won’t let me create the account.

I have to go to bed in about half an hour, so it ain’t gonna happen before the deadline. So, there it goes. Gosh, I just love that whooshing sound.

I am NOT a wuss.

I AM going to get this thing set up ASAP. Like, as soon as those dorks get their fingers out.

If there’s someplace else online that’s good for hosting your music, pray tell…only trouble is MySpace is easier to direct people to, but what can you do?

Seriously, has anyone else had this trouble?

(Sorry, I’m ranting now, but I just wondered. Grr.)

Dammit, I hate this!

I’m STILL waiting for MySpace to get back to me. I tried to set up an account again but I’m getting the same old error message. Are MySpace always like this when something goes wrong? (I don’t spend a huge amount of time on my main site and this is the first big glitch I’ve had with them.)

Does anyone out there still think I should have to admit to being a wuss? I’m actually itching to get the frickin’ songs on there right now, so it’s not exactly a lack of guts keeping me from doing this!

(By the way, I see I’m also down as having failed the previous challenge to make a demo, which to my knowledge I completed with nine hours to spare. C’mon guys, that’s not fair!)

Because it’s been bugging me for a while.

Because I keep thinking I will look terrible because there are people out there waaaaay better than me and waaaaaay more professionally recorded. And then I realize that hey, everyone has to start somewhere, right?

And because at least then if anyone asks I can direct them there and not have to try Emailing them wav files, which is a pain in the butt.
