Learn grammar

I wish I knew the parts of speech like modifiers, prepositions, participles, and the like. I know I write well but I’m never quite sure about some things like lay/laid for one!

I am not very poor in English grammar. But some basic principle I almost forgot it. I would pick up a Oxford grammar book to study and make notes on it. With ragarding to the future career of teaching it is useful because a teacher must be equiped with adequate knowledge of grammar so that he can teach his student how to formulate sentences etc.
