This is just too cute. But apparently it’s effective. Is there anything that a dog can’t help with? Reading Education Assistance Dogs
Two days ago I picked up the paper and read that Alpo was recalling their “Prime Cuts With Gravy”, the food that I fed Elvis….. The food that killed her.
On March 18th, 2 days after Elvis’ death, I called Alpo and they assured me that their food was not contaminated and was not on the list of dog food to be recalled. They lied, Elvis died.
I am still hurting over Elvis, my best friend. I miss her every hour of every day. I still can’t believe she is gone!
These bastards killed my best friend!
I am marking this goal “done”, but I can only hope to be half a good as Elvis was.
I want to thank everyone your thoughts and comments about Elvis. It really helped me. Thanks!
I still can’t believe it happened. Last night my best friend, my 2 1/2 year old German Shorthair, my best hunting buddy, my Elvis… she died. I still don’t understand what happened. She let out a big cry and just collapsed. I tried everything to revive her, CPR, mouth to mouth… nothing worked. Why did this happen?
I have had lots of hunting dogs, but none were as close to me as Elvis. We did everything together, she was my best friend. I buried her this morning and I still can’t believe that she is gone. I miss her more than you could know. Why did this happen?
I miss you Elvis. You were my best friend and I love you! Why did this happen?
I have a 2 year old German Shorthair named “Elvis”. She is a female, but “Elvis” seemed to fit her, she is “THE KING”. She is fully trained in the critical arts of bird hunting and hanging out.
She likes to sit calmly in the passenger’s seat of my truck and eyeball the other drivers as we drive along. She can keep up with me on a 5 mile mountain bike stomp through the woods. She can find and point more coveys of quail than any of my friends’ dogs. She is a sweetheart, but she will attack anyone who even looks sideways at my daughter.
Elvis is the coolest!

It’s been an odd 10 days or so with dental surgery, traffic court, and other interesting experiences. The one that warmed my heart had to do with my cat. In my attempt to avoid last year’s problem of strange animals hanging out in my garage and eating my cat’s food, I decided that I would lock her in (with food and water) at night. Well, last week I hadn’t seen poor kitty for several days and I was really getting worried. I feared that she’d found a new home. I decided that feeding her in the garage was not working and that I’d have to just put the food outside and hope she got at least some of it before it was consumed by squirrels, visiting cats, raccoons, or whatever. I went to get the food bowls out of the garage and when I opened the door, there was my poor kitty. She had been locked inside for days without food! Thankfully, she did have a litter box and water. I picked up kitty and held her close to my heart. What did she do? What cats do – she sweetly purred. What a role model for not holding a grudge. BTW, she was hungry, but her health does not appear to have been harmed.
This is it, “the answer” to world peace! If we were all more like our house dogs, the world would be a better place! It might smell a little different and all of the furniture would be chewed up, but it would be a better place! The only down-side….. Only one sexual position and an uncontrollable urge to chase bikes (JK).
My dog loves ALL; every one, every place, every thing….Unconditionally! I truly do want to be more like my dog!
but how can I really be like my dog?? He’s an angel! He’s the best person I know.

Well, this may not technically fit “Be more like my dog”, since neither of us can dance. But look at this dog and his owner. I’ve watched the video 3 times. Gosh, I wish I could dance as well as that dog :-)
