im eating alot more vegan, maybe cos im preparing all my own meals and so dont feel the need for meat. im sure it wont continue but ill try and also keep the veggie count up!
I have been Vegan for around 3 months now, mind you I eat as organic and unprocessed Vegan as possible. I do not eat meat, dairy, fish nor eggs, I use soy or almond milk, and I use Stevia and blackstrap molasses instead of refined sugar or artificial sweetener, and god no, NO MSG!!!
The food is so so so delcious and very “clean”... and I eat very well, I’m never hungry, and I am always finding really yummy healthy Vegan recipes on the internet. Oh, by the way… I do not “nuke” my food any longer as well, I understand that Microwaves are very bad for you as well as being very bad to cook with.
So anyhoo, I have now lost the 40 unwanted lbs. that I gained quiting smoking, and my boyfriend whom has started this lifestyle the same time I have, has lost 28 lbs. and is maintaining his healthy fighting weight.
My skin looks amazing, I feel wonderful and I’m sure my cholesterol has gone way down.
I have more energy… and I have Fibromyalgia, and now have no symtoms of it any longer!
Eating this way has been easy because there is so much information out there on what to, and what not to eat… you can find alot of useful information on the internet, read the labels on the packaged, processed food before you buy to avoid all the “crap” and chemichals. (Just buy organic as possible). There are quite a few books out that support the Healthy Vegan lifestyle that are very helpful.
I have quite a few Myspace friends that are Vegan whom post bulletins with some very helpfull information with regards to Veganism as well.
It has been no problem switching over to this lifestyle whatsoever, and we actually save money on our grocery bill.
We also take B12 and vitamin D, and sometimes Iron supplements along with a really high quality multi-vitamin 6 times a week. The pure Vegan way of eating is the best gift I have ever given myself, as well as it supports my passion to to help the well being of animals, and our Planet… a real win-win situation! You should just at least give it a go, see the benefits for yourself, if you haven’t already!

and the new area im in is very eco friendly & hippy. theres grafitti (but nice stuff-decorations!) along the main road and theres a health shop that i decided to stock up in today. everything is as vegan/veggie/organic as possible!
it was fun browsing but the thing that struck me was the prices!certain things like soya milk was actually cheaper then tesco! the cheek of tesco! other things were a little more expensive but you can see where the extra money is spent – good organic ingredients, local sourcing!

i havent been bad this week, ive been focusing on eating well and exercising, and i have found that i havent eaten much that wasnt vegan (only tuna, and a little skimmed milk). i bought rice milk- yum – for everything but tea/coffee, hummus instead of cheese, and pure soya butter instead of regular. i even decided to change the sweets i eat! organic gummy bears! :)

although i havent adopted veganism fully yet, i am a vegan for the day!!
It’s way too much work being a strict vegan. If you want to eat less/no meat, go for it, but don’t worry too much about every little ingredient.
I have so much more energy.
I’ve been vegan for six months now.
Recently I’ve slipped a little, couldn’t resist Hallowe’en goodies.. and cheese slices.. which aren’t really cheese anyway.
I’m not letting it control my life anymore, though. I don’t mind eating baked goods that have an egg or some milk in it, because it’s been cooked. It’s only recently that I’ve changed my ways, because the woman I love and am now living with loves to cook and bake… and I LOVE COOKIES!!!
I’m still not an activist. This is purely for health reasons. I feel great. :)
