Emily is ready to chill - think blueberries in the snow.
not a dammed-up river. Yes, it will probably have critters in it, like snapping turtles, beavers, and giardia. Worth the risk, though.

Through synchronicity, I met a woman who boats regularly on a local lake. She seems to suffer with Fibromyalgia worse than I do, and invited me to go with her on her boat one day and try swimming again.
It’s been so long since I’ve been in the water that I wasn’t exactly doing even normal “dog paddles”, but I got down in water up to my head, and worked my legs for a good couple of ours!

The universe turned in ways that helped me do this! I’ve never been in the water of a lake before, and I’ve not been swimming at all in 15 years!!!

Swimming in a Lake is one of my favorite things to do. My 2 all time favorite Lakes are Lake Tahoe (California/Nevada) and Lake Michigan (Michigan/Illinois/Indiana/Wisconsin).
This past summer we were fortunate to visit both, yet again. I find it one of the most relaxing things to do. Here is a photo of my son, taking in the beauty and all that surrounds Lake Tahoe.

...straight after work. Having borrowed a car helps getting TO the lake :-) The water was COLD though, since July has not shown a lot of summer. Great place though and very refreshing and a great way to start the evening. I was so energized I spent the evening until 1:00am working on my other goal: the new desk/workspace!
BtW; reading comments from other users I had to add that this is a very clean lake :-)
Not worth it!
Maybe it’s just the lakes around here, but they’re filthy. You’re more likely to cut your foot open on a broken beer bottle than have anything good happen. Not only that, but people are always drowning in the lakes around here then the bodies are never found. So they’re just…in there, in the water. No thanks.
I swam in two lakes this summer in Oregon’s Olallie Lake Wilderness area. Lakes created by volcanoes. So, they are volcanic lakes with blue crayfish that we could not catch. Dove for fishing lures and a swiss army knife that my buddy dropped in the water.
