build my own bike

i am doing this

My community has a bike workshop/collective where you can earn a bike by putting in the time to fix it up. I have about 2 hours left on it, working on the rear hub and some minor cosmetic things. It was in good shape when I picked it out, and it’s SWEET: old, yellow Schwinn Collegiate 5-speed. I’m stoked. Proud of working on it.

My bike (and I use the term loosely – she’s currently just an old Schwinn Caliente frameset) just got sand-blasted and will soon receive its shiny new powder coat paint job—in “Statuary Bronze.” She will be a statuesque beauty. Can’t wait to see how it turns out!

I also bought my new saddle… red-tan leather with an embossed tulip! I’m hoping it’s the only part I end up buying retail. I’ll try to stick to parts at cost from here on out…

still haven’t done this…

well like i said… i have a bike… but it needs a lot of work on…

i’m just not motivated to get outside…

i can’t even blame this on the weather becuase it’s been a adnormally warm winter…

well… all i can tell myself is that i’ll start working on my bike and get the help from Sigh or Parry…

it seems like i’m good at writing down goals but i suck at getting them done…

well… all i have to do is get started on this one…

i’m going to ask Sigh for help once again

well.. i forgot… it’s strange… but i do have a bike… but i haven’t road it in a long time… i just need to reclaim it from my friend Sigh…

i hope he didn’t get attached to it…

i have a good friend that will help me build a bike…

i think it will be good all around cause sometimes i fele our friendship is strained… it will be a good bonding experience…

plus i’ll have a bike again!!
