Finished some old and new ones  — 4 weeks ago

I finally finished Latter Days (having started over at the beginning after reading about halfway and forgetting what I had read). I also read Needful Things a while ago (which I mentioned in the last post), as well as the Girlfriends’ Guide to Pregnancy. There were probably one or two others in there, but I don’t remember. Anyway, I also started reading a book on the Sanford Meisner approach to acting which I’m just about through with, and I’m also at the end of What to Expect when You’re Expecting. So I just need to read TapWorks and Jesus the Christ to complete this goal.

I just don’t care so much anymore. If I wasn’t interested enough to finish them when I was reading them, why bother forcing myself to do it now?

Arg, I hate being really interested in a book, then picking another one up out of curiosity and becoming engrossed in that one. And, inevitably, forgetting about the initial book.

    Books  — 7 months ago

I have another goal to read 100 books in 2008, so I think I’m going to start over on some of these books. I will just finish What to Expect… which will be somewhat slow going because it’s split up into months and I don’t want to read ahead. The others I will start over: Latter Days, Jesus the Christ, and TapWorks. I also started Needful Things, which I’ll finish quickly, and I’ll probably read another book on pregnancy. Then I’ll be all caught up and can start reading new books!

One More  — 11 months ago

I finished Who Would Join the Mormon Church and left it at home for my parents to read. So now I still have TapWorks (which I’m less interested in now that I don’t have a tap class), Latter Days, Jesus the Christ, and What to Expect… Although right now most of my reading time is focused on getting through the Old Testament, I will finish that by the end of the year, so next year I can read these books and get caught up.

Finished four more!  — 1 year ago

I finished Eve and the Choice Made in Eden, then I read two Stephen King books: Gerald’s Game and Lisey’s Story, and then Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I also added two to the list that I’m still reading, TapWorks and Who Would Join the Mormon Church. So there’s those two, plus Latter Days, Jesus the Christ, and What to Expect When You’re Expecting. This would be easy to finish if I would stop reading new books, but I suppose reading anything is better than nothing!

Books I need to finish  — 1 year ago

I have started reading [at some point or another]:
    Prep
    Audition
    Lolita
    Money
    my Hitchhiker’s Guide anthology
    Emma
    Sense And Sensibility
    Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell

And I believe that’s it, although the list might grow. Some of these books I might have to start over; some I might not. Either way, I’m ripping through Prep, so…

Finished another one!  — 1 year ago

I just finished The Idiots Guide to Amateur Theatricals. Now I have Latter Days, Eve and the Choice Made in Eden, and Jesus the Christ, as well as What to Expect When You’re Expecting, which I think I will save until I’m pregnant. I think I’ll start reading Eve and the Choice Made in Eden, and I will probably bring it along on the plane with me when we go to Korea next week- lots of time to read!

Finished another one!  — 1 year ago

I finished another one without adding a new book! That is a victory! I read The Savior and The Serpent, and it was great! There were a lot of deep and unique ideas in there. Not sure if I agree with everything, but it was definitely thought-provoking. I’m now going to start in on Amateur Theatricals, because I want to get my theatre company going, and I’m sure there are some great ideas in there that will help me out!

    Five left:
The Idiot’s Guide to Amateur Theatricals
What to Expect When You’re Expecting
    Latter Days
Eve and the Choice Made in Eden
    Jesus the Christ

Finished two more...  — 1 year ago

...since my last entry. I finished the LDS Mother’s Almanac and Making it in Musicals. The Almanac was great and a book I’ll refer to again and again probably, and the Musicals book was the most informative book I think I’ve ever read on the musical theatre industry. I mailed it to my sister so she can read it too. So I did buy two more books, but I haven’t started reading them yet (other than the introductions), so I don’t know if they count, but I think I will add them to the list, as I expect I’ll read them before some of the ones already on my list. So now I have Latter Days, Jesus the Christ, The Savior and the Serpent, Eve and the Choice Made in Eden, and my two new ones- The Idiot’s Guide to Amateur Theatricals, and What to Expect When You’re Expecting. I think now I’m going to focus on Latter Days. That one shouldn’t take too long, and I’ve already read some of it, so that will be my next project.
