See whales in The Pacific

I’ve seen whales a few times. The first time I was sailing near Catalina island off LA. We were on a 35 foot Erikson when we saw what we thought was a water spout. As we got a little closer, a big tail flipped up. I wanted to get even closer, but my buddy said it was a lot bigger than our boat and could easily flip us over, so we just took pictures from a distance. Other times, off Hawaii, I saw Humpbacks playing around, very impressive. Dolphins, I’ve seen many times in many parts of the world. They’re always fun to watch.
