I’ve been researching into cleaning using less chemicals and it certainly seems that bicarbonate of soda, baking powder, white vinegar and lemons are all you need to clean up! The soda can be mixed with water to form a paste and used in all sorts of ways, like getting stains out of laundry and cleaning out the bath, I never knew that. Aswell as dusting on carpets to remove odours, seems you can use it everywhere, olive oil can even be used on wooden furniture! At the moment all I need to do is a bit of dusting with a damp cloth and I think I shall clean my bedroom window today, (I use black and white newspaper to wipe of the water from rising, it works great!) I have bicarb and baking powder but I just need to buy these other ingredients then the I can start natural cleaning!

I’m very mindful of the products I’m using now for cleaning around the home and for my beauty regime. I’ve got further with choosing to use more natural and chemical free products for beauty than for cleaning, so I need to find more natural solutions for cleaning around the home before I can tick this goal off.

We had a bbq 2 weeks back and were left with a huge surplus of white vinegar. During the clean-up, I decided to put away the Mr. Clean and try baking soda and vinegar.

WOW!!!

It ate everything on the conters and stovetops and left it impeccable. There was definiately the smell of baking soda and vinegar in the kitchen, but I think I will offset that next time by using a little bit of lemon juice as well.

I will try cleaning the linoleum next with the same solution, but I bet it will work again.

I love shea butter already, but I want to do more to lessen the impact chemicals makes on everything around me. I believe the simplest things are the best things. I want these things incorporated into my daily life.
