enter my art in an art competition

It took two days but I did it!

I can’t begin to post about how many hours I spent getting all the paper work ready, printing out prints, waiting in line at the post office.

On Thursday, I even left work early and missed 6 hours of pay to do this, finally getting home at almost 9 pm because careless delays; including finally arriving to the post office and realizing that I had forgetten ALL the paperwork at home (as in two subway trains away).

Of course my biggest concern is taking time away from studying for the bar to do anything art related. In the end, I had to make the sacrifice. I have to reinforce the artist in me or she will die.

However, no more art contests until August.

I have entered two times before and wasn’t selected but there is really no other way, as far as I can see it, to “get going” in this career.

Today my goal is to mail out my pieces to two contests. There was a third contest that I missed by a few weeks in Colorado. I’ll just shoot for that for next year.

Anyway, I have less than twelve hours to complete this goal!

I stayed up until 2 finished the pieces and I still have some work to do on the last one. There are three pieces that are a set. Because they are digital, it’s hard to judge how they will look so I have to leave work early and sit in the printer’s while I tool with them.

Anyway, I am nothing without my art (and God) so I MUST do this!
