    Worth doing!

... somewhat stunned, but stronger and more capable. It doesn’t seem like a big deal to some, but this is a huge step in the right direction for me!

I highly encourage anyone and everyone to find a physical activity they really enjoy and experience it to the fullest. Time for me to step it up another notch… who knows? Maybe I’ll surprise myself yet again!

    Worth doing!

I did this! I have to admit – I’ve been out of the “loop” lately for most of my internetishness. The squadron deploys soon and all the insanity that goes with it means that I’ve been crazy busy.

Plus, I’ve been trying REALLY hard to get my workouts in each day.

The past two days, I’ve actually accomplished this!!! YAY ME!!! Honestly, I wasn’t sure I was gonna get there for awhile, and whaddya know? It totally snuck up on me!

Thanks for all your support, guys and all the positive vibes!!

with this already! Sheesh, I tell ya…

I’m walking more and more, but I haven’t taken the plunge into jogging yet.

    I will get this done!

Still walking...  — 2 years ago

but hopefully that’ll change soon. At least I’m getting out there, which is more than i used to do. My dog is much happier and occasionally, I take my daugher. The walks with her though are more like leisurely strolls, considering she’s not quite three and fascinated by various leaves, trees, pinecones, and bugs.

That being said, I wouldn’t trade walks with my wee one for being in the best shape of my life. :)

Really, this is more of an update than anything. I’m working on this goal (rather than some of my other Things which are poor, neglected, stagnant creatures). Slowly, but surely – and hopefully I’ll be there faster than expected.

One thing I have decided on is grabbing a treadmill once the squadron heads out again. That way I can get some time in whenever I need it, regardless of weather or MiniMe.

    Worth doing!

At one point, I was good to go with an average 10 minute mile and I was comfortable with the thought of running 5 miles at a time.

5 years and a baby later I’ve kinda lost the fitness level I used to have. Reason? Unknown. Ok ok ok – most likely laziness. Oddly, I tend to be in better shape when jase is out to sea than when he’s home. Why? Because when he IS home, I tend to want to be at least in the same space he is, and I’d rather Mr-I-can-run-a-mile-and-a-half-in-12-minutes not watch me flounder through a running program. ;) Gah! It makes me crazy that the man can go, “Oh! PRT today. Be back in a couple of hours.” He jaunts out, busts his butt and runs 1.5 miles in under 13 minutes, does an alarming number of situps and pushups and comes home asking for an advil, then a day or so later, he’s fine again. Does he work out between the two PRTs each year? noooooooooooooooooo…. LOL

I would probably collapse and need a medic halfway through the run, and pushups? o.O I can do about 10. On a good day. :P

SO! Basically this goal should be more like “get back in shape” but… I have a more specific goal. Run. 5 minutes, plus. I don’t care if I start gasping at 5 minutes and 15 seconds, as long as I can make it through a 5 minute run without feeling the need to start walking.

I’m going to start by doing a 20-30 minute walk 4 or 5 days for 2 weeks. Then I’ll bump it up to add in small run times… I’ll try to keep track of my progress in a notebook, so I can hopefully hopefully stay motivated. :)
