I just talked to him earlier today. He was at his Granny’s place and mentioned something about looking after his baby sister while watching TV. He sounded genuinely happy that I called. He’s fasting today and he hasn’t missed a single day yet. Am very proud of him. His innocence reminds me of everything that is still righteous and pure about this world.

His imagination

He often plays by himself. Pirates, Jedi Knights and Ninja Turtles.. anything goes. Being an only child, he’s very good at keeping himself amused. He’s very independent and resourceful. And he’s very good with our cat, Shadow who often falls asleep on his chest whenever my son lies on the sofa to watch his favourite cartoons.

Some of the top reasons why I love my son unconditionally:
- he’s a sensitive boy, emotionally mature beyond his years
- he makes me laugh
- he’s very in tune to my feelings
- he keeps me honest, he would speak up if I’m being unfair or unreasonably moody
- he knows his limits
- he always thank me whenever I buy him treats without needing any reminder
- he bought me flowers for Mother’s day
- he can articulate his feelings very well, tells me whatever it is that he’s worried about
- we like the same things; funny movies, ice-cream, chocolate cake and pizza
- we can hang out and spend the day doing whatever comes to mind
- he appreciates having me around and looks forward to my days off from work
