Well, I ripped up my knee. I wasn’t even doing anything reckless…I was cutting in breakside and must have mis-stepped. Torn ACL, meniscus damage in 2, possibly 3 places, and plenty of swelling and bruising.
I can’t even begin to describe how depressed I am that I probably won’t be able to play ultimate until next spring at the earliest. I’ve been playing for just over 5 years, and it’s become probably the most important thing in my life after family and boyfriend.
The only thing that will keep me sane through the surgery, recovery, and therapy is the knowledge that one day, I Will Play Ultimate.

ultimate frisbee is quite possibly the most fun i’ve ever had. it makes me feel like a kid again. it just feels great when your biggest worry is having your sweaty guy friend fall on you with his shirtless body…and thats not even terribly bad. haha.

I played in college but haven’t played for over a year. I miss it. I’m moving to Atlanta and plan to play some pick-up or join a team when I get there. Its the best sport I’ve ever played with the most team spirit and the best parties. Anyone got any advice on post-college ultimate?

A few absences on the A-team gave me the opportunity to play up with them this weekend at Northern Flights in North Bay. I think I played well and was certainly given the impression that they thought so too.

I’ve got a bit of a break before my next tryout (the final one for Firebird) on Thursday. So far I’ve felt alright, but it’s been hard getting used to playing outdoors again.

If you want to get in shape this is a great sport because it is addictive. Much more fun than running on a treadmill. If you are playing with good people that honor the “Spirit of the Game” it can be a lot of fun even if you are not that good to start with.
