How to apply to colleges
How I did it: Seriously, just do it! It looks scary at first, but it really is not that bad. And once you get the applications out of the way, it is a lot better. :D

I don’t know where to apply to!!! I WANT TO DO A SINGING COURSE!! But I should probably apply to unis too.
Here are problems:
1) I can’t do music at uni because I haven’t done music at A Level.
2) I won’t get into any good musical theatre colleges because 1) all the people who do have had teachers coaching them for ages on how to get in 2) I’m not a good enough dancer.
3) Acting at uni – I dunno, just doesn’t appeal.
I could do an events management degree! A bit different to singing and acting, but I would like to be a party planner!!! IDEALLY I’d go to VocalTech for a year and then do that degree. And after my VocalTech year I’d get a manager and throughout uni I’d write my first album LOL! Like that would happen.
Seriously, I just want to go to Vocaltech! But parentals and other adults in my life are like, apply to uni, apply to uni!
ugh.

I thought I had it all sorted out, and then yesterday the RADA prospectus came and now I am all confused again.
I was just going to go to VocalTech to do the 1 year diploma, and then live and paint and sing and travel and live la vie boheme!! Which SO APPEALS!!
THEN I was going to try for a place on a musical theatre course, but I decided I can’t dance well enough and the audition would just be humiliating. Been there, done that lol. I could always try again I guess. But if u just do an acting course then you can end up doing musical theatre anyway. So now I’m thinking of doing a BA in acting and then the 1 year diploma at VocalTech. But four years is so long! I don’t know if I could stand another 4 years of education!! I mean, 3 years of it would be acting, but even if it was 4 years of solid singing (ADORE singing), I still think I’d go a bit crazy. That’s why the 1 year diploma appeals. But if I say: ‘oh, I’m going to a popular singing conservatoire to do a one year diploma’, people (family/teachers/randomers etc) will be like, ‘oh. Failure. Bad attitude. Lazy!’ etc. God. Whatever, I don’t care, I’d do it anyway. But yeah! Now I just don’t know where to apply to. I mean, I’d be 22 after 4 years of higher education! I want to be married by the time I’m 24! That doesn’t leave much time for single, young, free life! But obviously, you can’t predict when you’ll get married.
ANYWAY, I am rambling. Basically I’m confused, lazy, dreamy and bored of where I am now. I get bored easily too. 3 years of more education! Ugh!!
Criteria for colleges;
Must be in London
Must have friendly, supportive teachers
Must allow for creativity (I think VocalTech will be better at this than RADA)
I’ve not only applied, but I’ve gotten in. Annnnd I’ve choosen my school of choice! Northern Arizona University all the way :)
i applied to kaplan online university. i just have to finish my FA, and send in my final papers.. and i start next month!! =]
I applied to one last night online. All I need to do is have my transcript sent over to the school and see what they say! :)
HOpefully it goes well.
Glad that it’s over. Playing the waiting game is far more nerve wracking than not actually applying. I’ve been accepted to several schools already. Now I just hope that I choose the right one.
