Ken W is trying to lead a more serene life in an agitated world.
I have acquired two books on acrylic techniques and have been delighted to find that this is not like the watercolors I have played with before. Some of the textural techniques I only thought possible with oils can be achieved with acrylic paints. This will certainly make for more fun.
Early experimentation with mixing and blending have been both fun and educational.

I have played with water colors before, which I just learned is the most difficult painting medium—I always thought oils would be harder. My wife got me a set of tiny canvases (2”x3”) and a set of acrylic paints & brushes. This will be something to play with in the evenings while I am out of town for business. The small canvases lend themselves to low-risk experimentation. They can be covered and dry fairly quickly. I have not played with acrylic paints since my model railroading days in my teenage years.
Looking forward to some colorful fun.
